Transvulcania Ultramaratón 10.5.2025

The route begins at the Fuencaliente Lighthouse, running completely along the GR 131 long distance path, popularly known as the Walking Stick Route, to the Port at Tazacorte. From that point, it joins the GR 130 coastal walking path, to the finish line located in the Plaza de España in Los Llanos de Aridane.

Transvulcania is without doubt one of the hardest ultra trail races in the world, with a length of 75 kilometres and a positive difference in altitude of 4,735 metres and a negative difference in altitude of 4,405 metres with a cumulative total of 9,140 metres. Starting at elevation 0, ascending to Roque de Los Muchachos, the highest point on the island at 2,426 metres, returning to elevation 0 in Tazacorte, and finishing with the ascent to Los Llanos de Aridane, a finish line with spectacular colour and popular support.
